OUR COMPETITIVE SQUADS ARE FULL FOR THE 2016-17
Before you request an
evaluation please read the below requirements for an

For our stoke development program they must be able to swim
freestyle and backstroke. For our 9 & older

(Sept-Aug). TIDAL Wave commits by session (three sessions,
Sept-Dec, Dec-Feb, Mar-May). The developmental squads (Green
and Blue Surfers) commit by session (Fall: Sept-Nov, Winter:

When and where are new swimmer
All new swimmers to BWST need to have
an evaluation done before they can join the team. Please
contact our team administrator, Gini Howard, to set up an evaluation
appointment via SignUp Genius.
What to wear?
Swimmers must come to the evaluation
session ready to swim. This includes:
- Proper swim
training suits. Baggy shorts or "beach wear" are not
- A swim cap
(girls with long hair)
Why does my swimmer need to be
Before any new swimmers can join the BLUE WAVE SWIM TEAM they will
need to be evaluated. The evaluation (water test) is used by the
coaches to determine the ability level of the swimmer and which
training squad they would be best suited for.
Evaluations will determine if the
child is ready for an organized swim team, and at what level
(developmental or competitive). Swimmers will be asked to swim a
lap (or a few laps) of each stroke they know how to do.
Evaluations do not take more than 15 minutes, and the coach doing
the evaluation will speak with you when it's over about ability,
readyness, placement, waitlists, etc.
