The Weekly Wave (1/6)

I HOPE THE HOLIDAYS WERE RESTFUL AND MEMORABLE TO ALL BLUE WAVE FAMILIES . . . and that the break in our normal schedule meant that a few more family meals were shared. We got our long awaited White Christmas even if that simply meant snow leftover on the ground. But we are geared up and ready for the rest of the year. The championship phase of the season is nearly upon us. It is worth reminding BLUE WAVE families that our coaching staff regards the next phase of the season to be the most productive phase year after year. Swimmers must be present to win.

Awesome swimming and competition continued over at the Providence Recreation Center at the Reindeer MINI Meet while the Tom Dolan Invite was going on. The younger WAVES got to show their stuff. You could really tell that everyone has been working hard at practice as all of it showed through with the great streamlines off of the walls and awesome use of the underwaters. Out of 212 splashes we achieved 51 best times, 75 of those splashes were first time swims. Everyone did 50's for the first time, and most swimmers even did a 100 free.  Everyone came together to swim some really fun relays. The boys set the team standards in the 8 & Under relays and the girls bettered the relay records achieved at this meet last year. The coaches were very proud of all of the swimmers that swam!  Even though there was some snow that day we are happy that most people were able to make it to the meet.

We broke 5 relay records at the Reindeer MINI Meet:

  • Girls 7 & Under 100 Med Relay crushed the previous team record by 12 seconds with a time of 1:45.76 by Ellie Desmond, Katie Winklosky, Caroline Mandrgoc, and Nicole Winkloskly.
