DRAW A DEEP BREATH, PARENTS, BLUE WAVE SUMMER
IS OFFICIALLY HERE . . . next
Monday that is. On Monday, we will head into the summer winds
and partake of a changed practice schedule. That schedule has been
posted on the website and I hope all BLUE WAVE families have had a
chance to check it out. It is different from the school year
schedule: our express purpose is to preserve some family dinner
time and to work around the summer league schedule as much as
possible.
SNOW LC
Invitational…was the final meet to qualify for

GO BLUE WAVE!
WANT TO KEEP YOUR
SWIMMER AT A HIGH LEVEL OF SUMMER
FUNCTIONING?
Consider these two
common summer swimmer maladies while appreciating how easily they
can be avoided: swimmer’s ear and dehydration. The
latter seems obvious but far too many swimmers will become
“naturally” and quietly dehydrated through daily summer
activities and the omnipresent heat. So generously drink
water, thoroughly hydrate with fluid replacement products and avoid
this dread downer. A swimmer who is dehydrated regularly will
undergo a subtle but steady decline in practice
performance. Drink more than is needed - the human body can
eliminate the excess, but it cannot create water that is
lacking. And swimmer’s ear? A wet and warm ear
channel is a perfect breeding ground for swimmer’s
ear. Introduce a 50/50 mix of alcohol and white vinegar on a
daily basis and banish swimmer’s ear to the realm of distant
memories.
