Squad Descriptions
Level 1
GREEN CRESTS 1 is the bridging program for Age Group Development.
Primarily for the 9-11 year old, swimmers practice 3 times per
week. GREEN CRESTS 1’s main objective is skill and stroke
mastery in the four competitive strokes. The concept of holding
onto the water is taught through an in depth explanation of
underwater stroke patterns. Aerobic conditioning and interval
training is introduced to the athlete while being required to
maintain skill. The final objective of GREEN CRESTS 1 is to help
develop a healthy approach to competition while introducing race
strategy. This squad is primarily instructional with an aerobic
conditioning emphasis.
Level 2
GREEN CRESTS 2 swimmers have already had experience learning and
competing in all four strokes. While the focus of this level is on
improving and perfecting strokes as well as improving overall
fitness through training, swimmers thrive in the innovative, fun
practice environment. Emphasis is placed on improving all strokes
and racing skills as well as increasing aerobic capacity through
drills and interval workouts. Swimmers can expect to gain
experience racing all events and IM training will be a major
focus.
Practice duration is one hour and twenty
minutes.
One hour of practice time will be spent in the water. Twenty
minutes will be dedicated to dry-land exercises.
There is no attendance requirement for this squad, but athletes
will improve more quickly, and make more friends (which will make
them want to come more!), the more often they attend workout.
Swimmer must be able to complete the
following:
- Swim 200 IM legally (regardless of

Ultimately, the coach has final say in
